RARE 24” Life Size Lori Baby Antique Bisque German Doll

24″ · German Bisque · Very good

This little lady is a sweet wonderful example of German character babies. Marked “Lori”, she has working blue sleep eyes, a nice chunky body, and a precious pensive expression. This mold is rarely seen in this size on the market, so this is a perfect opportunity if you’ve been looking for a statement to add to your collection. She is dressed in a christening gown, bonnet, and underclothes, all made from fine antique linen and materials.

Condition, plainly

What each grade actually means

Five words, used the same way every time. Photographs of every flaw named here come with the listing.

Grade 1

Mint

No chips, hairlines or repairs. Original wig, eyes and body finish. Clothing original or period-correct and sound.

Grade 2

Excellent

No hairlines to the head. Light wear consistent with age — a rubbed cheek, faint crazing on the body. Nothing restored.

Grade 3

Very good

Honest flaws, all photographed: a repaired finger, a replaced wig, a body repainted at the joints. The head is sound.

Grade 4

Good

Visible age-related wear or flaws, all photographed and named in the listing. Nothing important is left for the buyer to discover.

Grade 5

Restored

Professional restoration to the head or a hairline stabilised. Priced accordingly, and never sold as anything else.

The record

Sold, and still on the record

A marketplace stops showing what a doll sold for a few months after it ships. Everything that leaves this workroom stays here instead — what it was, when it went, and what it made.

Where the marketplace reported the asking price rather than the accepted offer, the figure is marked listed. Where the amount was never written down it says so, because a rounded guess in a price record is worse than a gap.

When a collection needs a new home

Most collections arrive here the same way — a mother's, an aunt's, boxed in a spare room, and nobody left who knows what any of it is worth. That part is not your job.

1

Send photographs and marks

Front, back of the head, and anything stamped. A phone camera is plenty — I will tell you what I am looking at.

2

We appraise and price together

You see the comparables I am using. Nothing gets listed at a number you have not agreed to.

3

I photograph, list and pay you

Professional photographs, listed across every channel, and you are paid as each piece sells — not at the end.

Commission is agreed per collection and depends on size, condition and how much restoration a piece needs first. Single dolls are welcome — there is no minimum.

Tell me what you have

No obligation, and no pressure to sell. Sometimes the answer is “keep it.”

About

Addilyn Currie

My name is Addilyn Currie, and as the owner and operator of Tea Party Dolls & Consignment, my mission is to protect, preserve, and purvey collections around the world. As an antique bisque doll collector myself, I understand how precious these works of art are, and will continue to be as our history marches on. At Tea Party Dolls, no doll is left behind.

My passion for dolls began as early as two years old. Like many collectors, I had the pleasure of beginning my passion at an early age, and it has followed me throughout my life stages and often supported me through difficult times. I began my consignment business because I saw a need in collectors to be appreciated, understood, and listened to. Many of my consignors are merely wishing to rehome their dolls to ensure they will continue to be preserved in the future when they are gone; many are the families of former collectors who need a trusted and experienced collector to help them navigate their loved one’s cherished collection.

My guarantee here at Tea Party Dolls is trust. Collector-to-collector, I understand that these objects become more than just frivolous things. They come to represent who we are, what we love, and how we want to be remembered.

I guarantee quality and a positive buying experience, because I know what it’s like to be the collector on the other side. Shop or consign with Tea Party Dolls today and let me provide you an unforgettable experience.
